Angelo Colagrossi

Angelo Colagrossi was born in Rome in 1960. After finishing high school he attended Giulio Turcato’s course of nude painting at Rome’s Academy of Fine Arts. Later he studied at the Literature Faculty of Università “La Sapienza” in Rome, graduating in Historical and Artistic Studies.His first exhibition was held in 1986, in Ennio Calabria’s studio. In 1992, after important solo shows in Rome and Brescia, he participated in the fourth Salone d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Palazzo dei Congressi (Rome). In 1994 he was invited to participate in the exhibition “Italia – Egitto due culture mediterranee” (Italy-Egypt, to Mediterranean cultures), in El Cairo. In 1997 his paintings were shown at “L’Arte a Roma” an exhibition held at the former Mattatoio di Testaccio. Since the mid Nineties Angelo Colagrossi has often held exhibitions in private galleries. In 2002 he exhibited his works in the Freccia Alata lounge of Milan’s Malpensa airport and, the following year, he participated in an international exhibition of contemporary art organised by KPMG in Berlin. He has also taken part in the 55th edition (2004) of the Premio Michetti a Francavilla and in the 32nd edition (2005) of the Premio Internazionale d’Arte Sulmona. In 2005 he held an important solo show in the Palazzina Azzurra of San Benedetto del Tronto (AP). Angelo Colagrossi works and lives in Rome and Todi.
