A notorious artist, Aldo Riso was born in Santa Maria di Leuca in 1928. Having graduated in Law, from the artistic point of view he is strongly linked to Italian landscape painting. A real travel, he’s never abandoned his love for his home land, Apulia, which he portrayed in significant images, thanks to his clean use of watercolour, a technique to which he’s been able to give new strength. Since 1956, Aldo Riso’s work has been shown not only in Italy, but also in Koln, Berlin, Wien, Paris, Philadelphia, Belgrade, Athens, Barcelona, Madrid, Montreal, Toronto, New York, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Asuncion and in South Africa. His works are part of numerous collections, both public and private. Aldo Riso died in Roma in 2008.
